The permit was granted by the Designated Authority on 30 April 2008 and comprises 7 graticular blocks (approximately 566 km² or 139,860 acres) in the Dampier Sub-basin portion of the Carnarvon Basin, offshore Western Australia. The Joint Venture received approval in April 2013 to vary the work programme for the final year of the current permit term (Year 6), which commenced on 30th April 2013. The revised work programme includes reprocessing of 566 km2 of existing multi-client 3D seismic data, seismic attribute studies and other technical studies to assess the petroleum potential of the permit and select a drilling location. Drilling was deferred until the renewal of the permit in 2014. Apache is the operator of the permit with 40% interest, followed by Rankin Trend who has a 13.50 interest, Enegex NL has 16.50% interest and Cue Exploration contains the remaining 30% interest.
