ATP1186 is located in the Surat Basin near the town of St George. The Licence is 100km west of the Moonie oil field, one of Queensland’s oldest and largest oil fields, and is proximal to the Alton and Fairymount fields, both of which have produced in excess of 1 million barrels of oil. The principal targets for exploration will be the same formations as the oil accumulations discovered in these fields. There is a significant amount of geological information for the area that will now be used to progress the understanding of the Licence with a view to identifying prospects and drilling targets. In October 2014 Goshawk entered in to an agreement with the ASX listed Triangle Energy (Global) Ltd (ASX:TEG) to farm in to the licence. Triangle Energy is farming in to earn up to 75% of the licence for completing the 4 year works program including acquisition of new 2D seismic and the drilling of 2 exploration wells.
