Project Profile
Location: northern flank of the Cooper basin, Queensland, Australia
Area: 5200 sq. km
The Queensland government awarded explorer Blue Energy four blocks prospective for oil and gas in Australia’s Cooper basin. The permits - ATP 656P, ATP 657P, ATP 658P and ATP 660P – have an initial four-year term and cover on the northern flank of the Cooper basin. The Ballera-to-Mt Isa gas pipeline crosses permit ATP 657P and the Santos-operated Cook and Cuisinier oilfields are in close proximity to ATP 656P. Blue plans to undertake a 3-D seismic acquisition programme across the blocks to evaluate the structural and stratigraphic components of the Jurassic reservoir systems and Permian stratigraphic sequences.
