Pryderi Block is located offshore North Western Australia in permit WA-424-P at water depth of 80 m / 264 ft. Total unrisked prospective resource for the permit has been assessed at 679 MMbbls. BHP drilled the Gwydion-1 well in 1995 and discovered a 32 foot oil column in good-quality Cretaceous-aged Hauterivian/Barremian sand. Gas was also found to exist above the oil column in poor-quality glauconitic sands. The Pryderi prospect lies adjacent to the Gwydion discovery. Pryderi-1 is expected to be drilled mid-2013. IPB Petroleum and CalEnergy were granted a 12-month suspension and extension to years 2 and 3 regarding the work program for permit WA-424-P off Western Australia.
