Water depth: approx. 105 m

Oil Search commenced operations in PPL 244. Using the semi-submersible rig, Stena Clyde, the company spudded the Hagana 1 well on 7 June 2013. The well is located offshore PNG in PPL244 in the Gulf of Papua. Hagana 1 well was at a depth of 703 metres and pressure testing the 20” casing, having drilled a 26” hole and installed the 30” conductor. The Hagana Prospect lies approx. 225 kms west-northwest of Port Moresby and 10 kms northeast from Flinders 1 in a water depth of approx. 105 metres. The primary objective is a submarine, basin-floor fan sandstone of Pleistocene age, with a Pliocene age secondary objective. The well’s planned depth is approx. 3,300 metres and it is expected to take approx. 40 days to drill.
