PEP 52333 was awarded to Kea Petroleum on the 13 October 2010 via the Priority in Time method for an initial 5 year period. Petroleum Exploration Permit (PEP) 52333 is an onshore/offshore block covering an area of 232.5 sq km along the northern Eastern Margin of the Taranaki Basin. The blocks position allows for high quality marine data acquisition and exploration with onshore development potential. In Q1 of 2013 Kea will acquire the 120 sq km Mercury 3D seismic survey. This will aid imaging and mapping of the Mercury Prospect allowing for a drilling decision and planning of Mercury-1 to be made with increased confidence.
