AC/P44 exploration permit is located in the Browse basin of the NW shelf in Australia. The permit was awarded to Finder in April 2008. The Permit is located along the boundary of the Ashmore Platform in the Territory of Ashmore and Cartier Islands and the highly prospective Browse Basin, 275km off the coast of north western Australia. The area lies directly north of Finder’s (40%) AC/P 36 exploration Permit and approximately 120km north of the giant Gorgonichthys-Brewster gas field. The permit has several prospects and leads over multiple play levels, with both oil and gas potential. The permit covers a surface area of 2,505km² at water depth of 5-600m. There is significant identified prospectivity with three structural prospects identified within the Permit with multiple reservoir target levels. Omega is the standout prospect with interpreted DHI support in the shallower Miocene clastics with significant and material follow-up in the Gamma and Eta prospects:
- Omega - High reward opportunity: Jurassic clastics target with areal extent in excess of 100 km2 with 340 metres closure height. Omega has an unrisked gas-in-place highside resource estimate of about 4 TCF or an unrisked oil-in-place highside resource estimate of approximately 140 mmbbls at roughly 2,700 metres sub-sea in 190 to 260 metres water depth;
Drill Ready: 731 km² of multi-client pSDM 3D seismic data has confirmed the Omega prospect as the standout “drill-ready” prospect with low structural risk. No significant drilling issues (ie Browse over-pressure) are anticipated.
