WA-374-P1 permit area is located in the Greater Gorgon Area, Carnarvon Basin, northwest of Western Australia. Chevron Australia is the operator of WA-374-P with a 50% interest while Shell Development (Australia) and Mobil Australia Resources each hold 25%. Chevron has made a series of natural gas discoveries in WA-374-P. The first one was Satyr-1 in December 2009, located 100 miles (160 kilometres) offshore in the Greater Gorgon Area in 3,510 feet (1,070 metres) of water. The well discovered 425 feet (130 metres) of net gas pay. Satyr-2 exploration discovery well confirmed approximately 128 feet (39 metres) of net gas pay. The well is located approximately 75 miles (120 kilometres) northwest of Barrow Island off the Western Australian coast. The well was drilled in 3,570 feet (1,088 metres) of water. Satyr-3 located 100 miles (160 kilometres) offshore in the Greater Gorgon Area in 3,510 feet (1,070 metres) of water discovered 425 feet (130 metres) of net gas pay. The Satyr-4 exploration discovery well was the last discovery of Chevron in the area and confirmed approximately 220 feet (67 metres) of net gas pay. The well was drilled in 3,570 feet (1,088 metres) of water to a total depth of 15,023 feet (4,579 metres).
