The Stag field was discovered in 1996 with the Stag 1 exploration well and first oil production commenced in 2000. The field is located in WA-15-L permit, Carnarvon Basin, offshore Western Australia, in 49 metres of water and has a gross production of 7,000 bpd. Santos has participated in the Stag oil fields since 1993. Production facilities are a six-leg jacket and topsides comprising hydrocarbon/water and solids separation, crude stabilisation and water injection. The crude is stored on a floating storage and offloading vessel moored to a CALM buoy and is exported via shuttle tankers.

In November 2015, Santos Ltd exited the Stag oil field off northwestern Australia. Sona Petroleum Bhd agreed to buy the ageing oil field from Santos and private firm Quadrant Energy for US$50 million. Sona expects to extend the life of the Stag field, producing since 1998, by adding new wells to boost oil recovery and has agreed to take over environmental liabilities which kick in at the end of the field\'s life.

Jadestone Energy closed the acquisition of the Stag Oilfield. Quadrant will continue to act as the operator of Stag on behalf of Jadestone under a transitional services agreement until the earlier of 31 October 2017. (November, 2016)

Geosea: Installed 4 strategic gravity anchors along the flowline alignment, subsea wellhead template, flowine and 9 concrete stabilisation mattresses over the flowline and executed the subsea tie-in to the subsea well template and the riser.

Neptune: Inspection support services contract for the the provision of qualified personnel for routine inspection services. (June, 2016)
