Project Profile
Value: Undisclosed
Location: Wallumbilla Hub, approximately 50 kilometres from Roma and 12 kilometres south of Wallumbilla
Capacity: Unknown
Start-up Year: 2015
The proposed Wallumbilla Gas Treatment Facility will be a specialised facility designed to treat gas. The facility is part of the Gladstone Liquefied Natural Gas (GLNG) Project. Once treated, the gas will be piped to Gladstone via the 420 kilometres underground gas transmission pipeline to our liquefied natural gas plant where it will be converted into liquid for export. The proposal is to locate the facility at the existing Wallumbilla Hub, approximately 50 kilometres from Roma and 12 kilometres south of Wallumbilla. The Wallumbilla Hub is a well established central area used by a number of energy companies to process natural gas in Queensland’s southwest region before it is sent for use in the domestic market. The project included storage tanks and one or two gas processing trains. The proposed Wallumbilla Gas Treatment Facility will take approximately two-and-a-half years to build. During construction, it will create around 300 jobs with an ongoing workforce of around 20 employees. Construction workers will be accommodated in a temporary camp close to the site.
