Project Profile
Location: 75 kilometres north of the Moomba gas processing facility, northeast of South Australia
Reserves: 6,491 BCF of gas in place
Area: 2,400 sq km
The licence area is located approximately 75 kilometres north of the Moomba gas processing facility in the northeast of South Australia. The licence is made up of five parts totalling almost 2,400 square kilometres. The project has Coal Seam Gas potential of 6,491 BCF of gas in place in the Patchawarra trough contained in some of the thickest coal seams in the entire Cooper Basin, Shale gas potential of 1,481 BCF of gas in place in the Murteree shale in the Patchawarra trough, Oil potential from a sparsely explored northern area. Oil potential is being evaluated in the southern area on the flanks of the Cooper Basin where several oil fields have previously been discovered. Gas potential being evaluated in conventional reservoirs in the southern area adjacent to the rich source rocks contained in the Patchawarra trough in the Cooper Basin.
