Project Profile

Value: Undisclosed
Location: Australia’s Northern Territory
Start-up Year: -
Reserves:18.6TCF in the Barney Creek Shale within EP 171 and EP 176. A P90 (or 90% probability level) of 3.6TCF recoverable gas resource was assessed by MBA Petroleum Consultants for this same area.

Consistent background and peak gas readings were observed while drilling though the shale interval with the gas generally consisting of methane, ethane, propane, butane and pentane. Carbon dioxide levels in the well were “negligible” and that no water had been encountered during drilling.

Gas flares were also noted at the surface from the Barney Creek shale during the reintroduction of compressed air after drilling downtimes.

Glyde-1 lies in the vicinity of a gas flow discovery that was made by Amoco Minerals in 1979 when it was exploring for zinc in the Glyde sub-basin.
