The Equus project lies about 210 kilometres offshore in 1100 metres of water on Block WA-390-P and is Hess’ first development in Australia. Hess was planning to use a large semi-submersible production unit to produce the gas from the field which is estimated to hold several trillion cubic feet of reserves.
