Project Profile

Value: Undisclosed
Location: From the onshore Malongo storage tank farm to two new loading buoys in Cabinda, Angola, West Africa
Length: 21 miles
Start-up Year: November 2009

The Malongo Terminal Oil Export (MTOE) Pipeline is located in Cabinda, Angola in West Africa. A new crude oil export pipeline system was installed from the onshore Malongo storage tank farm to two new loading buoys. The new pipeline accommodates planned future production increases and also provides some redundancy for the existing oil export pipeline. The combination of the new and existing pipeline will allow the export of two blends of oil concurrently, in addition to more efficient berthing of the tankers, thus allowing increased oil export rate. The onshore segment is approximately one mile in length, mainly 36\" pipe, with a metering and pump system. The offshore segment is approximately 20 miles in length consisting of 42\" pipe. The offshore segment has two tanker berths, including a subsea Pipeline End Manifold (PLEM) and mooring buoy at each location. Chevron, through Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Ltd, operates the Malongo Terminal Oil Export (MTOE) Pipeline, which was completed in November 2009. This new oil export system more than doubled the export capacity from the area, benefiting both Block 0 and Block 14.
