Project Profile

Value: US$12,000 million
Location: Carnarvon Basin Blocks WA-17-R and WA-253-P , Australia

Capacity: 3.6 mtpa of LNG, 1.3 mtpa of condensate (equivalent to 35,000 bpd) and 0.4 mtpa of LPG

Start-up Year: 2018
The project will see the construction of a floating liquefied natural gas platform. The feedstock is most likely to come from Prelude and Concerto gas fields almost 500km off Broome in the Timor Sea. The double-hulled FLNG vessel is intended to operate for 25 years producing 3.6 million tonnes per year of LNG, 1.3 million tonnes/yr of condensates and 400,000 tonnes/yr of liquefied petroleum gas. Held in position by four groups of six anchor chains, the ship will be designed to withstand a 1-in-10,000 year storm, with waves of up to 27.5 metres, or roughly 90 feet. about 110 people will live on board.
