Shell and PetroChina are studying a site in on Curtis Island, near Gladstone in Queensland, for a potential liquefied natural gas project, the fifth venture planning to tap reserves in the region for export to Asia. The plant would be supplied from coal-seam gas permits acquired from Arrow Energy Ltd (Shell and PetroChina have bought Arrows assests). The facility is expected to focus on two liquefaction trains with combined capacity of 8 million tonnes per annum. Shell is proposing to build a gas pipeline from Gladstone City Gate, most likely to an LNG site on Curtis Island. PetroChina will be a significant off-taker of the project\'s LNG volumes.

ALE Heavylift: Completed the load-out of 111 modules bound for the Gladstone liquefied natural gas project in Australia. The modules, which were built by AG&P in the Philippines, ranged in weight from 31 tonnes to 1925 tonnes. ALE’s workscope, which was for load-out and not transportation, started in January 2013 and ended on 26 August 2014.
