Project Profile
Location: WA-361-P
In the Carnarvon Basin, MEO has two contiguous exploration permits (WA-360-P – 25%, WA-361-P – 50%) immediately outboard of the producing North West Shelf LNG Project (~16 Mtpa). In the immediate vicinity, the 4.5 Mtpa Pluto project is approaching 1st production in 2011, while the proposed 8.6 Mtpa Wheatstone project is under evaluation with FID expected in 2012. All three projects are seeking gas for extension/expansion providing a ready market for any discovered gas.
In 2010, Petrobras partnered with MEO Australia in WA-360-P, representing the first entry into Australia for that company. In early 2011, WA-361-P was renewed for a further five year term following a mandatory 50% relinquishment. The company is currently planning to acquire 3D seismic in WA-361-P.
