Project Profile
Value: US$200 million
Start-up Month: Q4
Start-up Year: 2011
Upstream Oil Reserves: 30 million bbl
Water Depth: 310 m
The Kitan field is found in the same exploration block as the Kuda-Tasi and Jahal oil pools. The oil-in-place volume is around 80 million barrels, of which 30 million barrels would be recoverable under a 40% recovery rate. The Kitan 1 oil discovery, located in water depths of 310 metres was drilled to a TD of 3,568 metres. The flow rates after the initial clean-up reached 6,100 barrels of oil per day (bopd) on a 32/64\" choke. The flow was limited by the surface testing equipment. The field will be developed via three subsea wells and an FPSO and is expected to produce 35,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
