The Fort Nelson LNG Plant is KT Energy’s first proposed Canadian LNG project and has been in development since 2015. The facility will be located 130 km northwest of Fort Nelson and have an initial production capacity of 20,000 gallons of LNG per day in its first phase. That would increase to 60,000 gallons per day in its second phase. The facility is scheduled for commissioning in late 2018, with subsequent expansion depending on the market conditions. The plant will serve as a virtual pipeline providing natural gas to off-grid communities, industrial and commercial users. China’s Kai Tian Energy Group, the parent company of KT Energy will manufacture and supply the modular LNG processing equipment for the Fort Nelson plant.
