The Barataria Field is a discovery located offshore in Mississippi Canyon Block 521, in the Gulf of Mexico. The field is a Miocene oil and gas discovery that was made by DGE III in 2015 and has a water depth of 2,063.8008 metres. The well will be completed and brought on line in the 4Q of 2016. Barataria will be jointly developed with South Santa Cruz which will be tied back to the Blind Faith FPS. Deep Gulf operates Barataria with a 22.5% working interest. The operator expects to bring the first well at South Santa Cruz and the well at Barataria on stream late in 2016 and the two wells are estimated to produce about 15,000 bbl/d.

Contractors:

Technip SA: The subsea contract consists of project management and engineering services; fabrication and installation of 23 km of pipe-in-pipe flowline; design, fabrication, and installation of flowline end terminations; fabrication and installation of jumpers; and pre-commissioning for the flowline. Technip\'s operating centre in Houston will manage the overall project. The flowline system will be fabricated at the group’s spoolbase in Mobile, Ala. The offshore installation is expected to be performed in this year’s second half by Technip’s Deep Blue pipelay vessel. (February 2016)
