Area: 14,000 sq. km
Depth: 500-3600m
Start-up Year: 2018
The Scotian Basin Exploration Project is an exploration programme that includes seismic acquisition and drilling across four exploration licences (ELs 2431, 2432, 2433 and 2434) located approximately 300 km offshore Nova Scotia. The licences cover 14,000 sq. km in water depths ranging from 500-3600m. BP conducted a safe and successful 3D seismic programme in 2014. This information will assist in determining next steps in the exploration stage of the well programme. Exploration drilling is required to determine the presence, nature and quantities of the potential hydrocarbon resource.
