Project Profile
Location: Illinois Basin, USA
Reserves: 240 million barrels
Production: 300 bpd
Depth: 4,730 feet
Start-up Year:
The Lingle Oil Project’s aim is to target light-gravity sweet oil from the Devonian-aged Lingle Formation. It is expected that a recovery factor of at least 10% can be achieved in the Lingle Reservoir. The first well was drilled in 2013, it was called the Burkett 5-34HOR well. It was drilled in two stages. First, a vertical hole was drilled to the top of the target formation and then cored approximately 60 feet of the formation. Next, the vertical section of the well was plugged back and drilled the horizontal leg. The vertical portion of the well reached a total depth of 4,730 feet. Strata-X Energy cored successfully 59 feet of the target formation and logged the vertical section of the well. Since then there has been further exploration works with the drilling beginning at the Kuhlig #1 vertical well by Webster Drilling. Further exploration appraisal and evaluation is required to determine the existence of a significant quantity of potentially recoverable hydrocarbons.
