The Megalodon development is located in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico in South Timbalier Block 311. The field will be developed with three production wells tied to a fixed six-slot platform in roughly 400 feet of water. Gulf Island Fabrication was awarded a fabrication contract to build the jacket and topsides. Production start-up is planned for 2Q 2015. McDermott International was awarded a contract by Walter Oil & Gas to provide transportation and installation services for the Megalodon platform that will be installed in the South Timbalier area of the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. Installation is expected to take place in 4Q 2014.
