Dominion Resources plans to construct a massive transmission pipeline to move natural gas from the Marcellus and Utica shale regions. The pipeline called the Southeast Reliability Project will stretch 450 miles from West Virginia to Virginia to North Carolina and could cost up to US$2 billion to complete. Once the federal government grants permits for the project, construction of the pipeline could take place between 2016 to 2018.
