Project Profile

Value: Undisclosed
Location: Northeast of Fort Nelson, Northeast British Columbia, Canada
Capacity: 250 MMcf/d
Start-up Year: Q4 2013

The Horn River Shale Basin - the largest resource play on Canada and potentially one of the largest shale gas deposits in North America - has generated significant producer interest and activity. As a result of signed firm contracts with customers for approximately 800 MMcf/d in incremental gathering and processing service, Spectra Energy is undergoing a large-scale expansion of its Fort Nelson area system. Through a series of 10 discrete staged gathering and processing projects, Spectra Energy is bringing on new processing capacity to meet the scale, scope and timing of our customers\' needs. The Fort Nelson North Processing project takes place in the Northeast of Fort Nelson, Northeast British Columbia in Canada. The processing capacity will be 250 MMcf/d

The Fort Nelson North Processing Facility - the final phase of the expansion program - is currently being constructed and will enable the timely processing of incremental raw gas production from the eastern side of the Horn River Basin. The project involves the construction of a single train gas processing plant with inlet separation, gas sweetening, amine regeneration, acid gas incineration, sales gas dehydration and sales gas compression.
