Strategically located on the Gulf Coast near Henry Hub, the Bobcat Gas Storage assets complement the existing pipeline and storage portfolio in the region, providing Spectra Energy with a platform for significant future storage growth and customers with the flexibility to access major markets in the United States. The Bobcat Gas Storage Expansion project is located in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana in USA. The facilities are expected to be expanded by 15 billion cubic feet (Bcf) working capacity of natural gas storage, while the project is expected to be completed during the period 2013-2014
The scope of this project involves:
Two caverns currently under construction totaling approximately 15 Bcf of working capacity.
Installed additional compression facilities to support sale of expansion capacity, enabling Bobcat to offer up to 2.0 Bcf of withdrawal and 1.1 Bcf of injection capability once development is completed in 2H2014.
Constructed pipeline looping to Texas Eastern and Florida Gas Transmission. Completed upgrades to five existing metering and regulating stations. Bobcat has Federal Energy Regulatory Commssion certification to develop up to 46 Bcf of working gas storage.
