EmberClear is developing a natural gas to liquids (GTL) facility in Adams County, Mississippi on approximately 800 acres overlooking the Mississippi River. The plant will produce 4,000 tons per day of methanol per day and is capable of converting it into 14,000 barrels of gasoline and liquid petroleum gases (LPG) per day. A 20 inch pipeline section of American Midsteam’s Midla Pipeline system connects the Mississippi site to Haynesville Shale production in North Louisiana and East Texas.
The Midla Pipeline intersects three interstate gas pipelines, allowing us to source gas from virtually anywhere in Texas and Louisiana as well as parts of Oklahoma.The Port and the City of Natchez are committed to providing a docking facility for loading products. A 115 kV power line owned by Entergy with excess capacity is available to serve the plant. The site is also connected to a statewide rail system and a 40 million gallon per day water treatment facility operated by the City of Natchez where the plant’s effluent will be sent for treatment.
EmberClear has engaged SK E+C USA and IHI to support permits and complete pre-construction work. Providence Engineering has been retained to complete the environment work. The permits and a firm construction contract are expected to be in place by fourth quarter of 2013. Pending investment decisions, the plant could break ground by early 2014 and start production by the end of 2016. This project will create approximately 1,000 construction jobs and 150 permanent onsite and related career opportunities. This project is one of the two identical facilities that EmberClear is developing; the second is located in Newtown, PA.
