EmberClear is developing a natural gas to liquids (GTL) facility on its 350 acre tract located in northeastern Pennsylvania. It is in close proximity to existing natural gas production from the Marcellus Shale region. EmberClear is also developing two power projects in the area. If the GTL plant proceeds it will produce 4,000 tons of methanol per day and is capable of converting it into 14,000 barrels of gasoline and liquid petroleum gases (LPG) per day. A dedicated pipeline connecting the project site to existing production will supply natural gas for the life of the project. It will sell its product into the local Northeast markets under a long-term agreement. The project site has well-established infrastructure with rail-to-port access and a gasoline pipeline option to connect to a distribution center located in the region.
EmberClear has engaged SK E+C USA and IHI to support permits and complete pre-construction work. Pennoni & Associates has been retained to complete the environmental work and Quad 3 Engineering is assisting. The permits and a firm construction contract are expected to be in place by fourth quarter of 2013. Pending investment decisions, the plant could break ground in early 2014 and start production by the end of 2016. The project will create approximately 1,000 construction jobs and 150 permanent onsite and related career opportunities. This Project is one of two identical facilities that EmberClear is developing; the second is located in Adams County, MS.
