Start-up Year: -
In December 2007, W&T Offshore entered into an agreement with Apache Corporation to acquire Apache\'s interest in Ship Shoal 349 field, located off the coast of Louisiana, and covering two federal offshore lease blocks, Ship Shoal Blocks 349 and 359 for US$116 million in cash, subject to customary purchase price adjustments. Mahogany is a subsalt field located in Ship Shoal 349. Current average daily gross production from the Mahogany field is approximately 9,150 Boe (approximately 75% crude oil) which is up from about 1,300 Boe per day gross in late 2011.In July 2013, W&T Offshore announced a sub-salt discovery at its Mahogany field in the US Gulf of Mexico. Well A-14 was drilled in Ship Shoal block 349 and is producing from the T-sand more than 17,200 feet deep at a rate of 4,000 boepd. To date, the T-sand is the deepest reservoir discovered in the field. Additional plays were identified in the M, N and O-sands. In all, the A-14 well logged over 370 feet of net oil pay. The discovery of the four oil sands will encourage additional drilling to exploit the additional reserves. Currently, the H&P 107 platform rig is performing a major workover on the A-4 well. Once the workover is complete W&T expects to spud the A-15 sub-salt exploratory well designed to target multiple stacked oil sand targets. The well should spud in September 2013 and take 3 to 4 months to drill. Unrisked reserve potential associated with the A-15 well is anticipated to be in the range of 1.8 to 6.2 MMboe.
