Spraberry-Wolfcamp

Oil and gas resources are produced from multiple formations, including the Spraberry, the Jo Mill, the Dean, the Wolfcamp, the Atoka, the Strawn and the Mississippian. Depths range from 6,700 to 11,300 feet. Oil produced is West Texas Intermediate Sweet, and gas produced is casing head gas that has 1,400 BTU average energy content. The Spraberry-Wolfcamp acreage contains six highly successfully appraised prospective stacked intervals. The operator shut down its vertical drilling program in early 2015 to concentrate efforts on more capital-efficient horizontal shale development.

Wolfcamp

Pioneer Natural Resources has signed a US$1.7 billion joint venture agreement in the Wolfcamp shale that will see Sinochem take a 40% interest in about 207,000 net acres of the play. The acreage lies in what is believed to be the heart of the southern portion of the Wolfcamp shale tight oil play in Upton, Reagan, Irion, Crockett and Tom Green counties in the Midland basin – a sub-section of the prolific Permian basin in West Texas. In May 2013, the operator put in production the first well, Mabee K #1H, with a natural peak 24 hour flow rate of 1,572 barrels oil equivalent per day (BOEPD).

Laredo Petroleum has signed a purchase and sale agreement for additional acreage within the company\'s existing footprint in the Midland basin for US$125 million. (July, 2016)
