Located on Garden Banks 602 in 3,700 feet (1,128 metres) of water, the Macaroni field is situated 12 miles (19 kilometres) away from the Auger TLP, southeast of Houston and southwest of New Orleans in USA. Discovered in 1995 by the Transocean Rather, the field underwent appraisal drilling in 2000. Macaroni is operated by Shell, which holds 51% interest in the lease. Project partners include Eni with 34% and Devon Energy with the remaining 15% interest. Field development for Macaroni ties the field to the Auger TLP. Three subsea wells are clustered around a four-slot subsea template on Garden Banks 602 and then oil and gas is transported via two flowlines to the Auger TLP. The Transocean Richardson and Noble Paul Romano semisubs performed development drilling on the field and the main EPC contractors on the subsea development included FMC Technologies, J. Ray McDermott, Kongsberg Offshore (flowlines) and Alcatel (communication services). Auger TLP weighs 39,000 tons (35,380 tonnes) and is designed and engineered by Shell with a production capacity of 100,000 bopd and 300 MMcf/d (8.5 MMcm/d).
