Project Profile

Value: Undisclosed
Location: Waha Hub outside of Fort Stockton in northern Pecos County
Capacity: 50,000 barrels per day (with final capacity to be 120,000 barrels per day)
Length: 148 miles of 42 inches diameter
Start-up Year: 1Q 2016

The Trans-Pecos Pipeline has begun surveying the area as part of its process to identify the desired route that creates safe and reliable transmission infrastructure. To accomplish this the operator is performing civil, environmental and endangered species surveys.

As currently planned, the 148-mile pipeline will originate at the Waha Hub outside of Fort Stockton in northern Pecos County where there will be one compressor station providing all necessary horsepower for the entire route. The pipeline will include delivery locations with local towns and utilities in Central West Texas and terminate custody at the U.S.-Mexico boundary near Presidio, Texas.

Approximately US$7.1 million will be paid in total annual ad valorem taxes to the three counties traversed and the project will create approximately 350 construction and labor jobs.

The pipeline will be buried a minimum of 48”. May be deeper in some areas. Also, the preliminary pipeline route will follow existing power lines and railroads where feasible in order to reduce the pipeline’s impact on the surrounding areas. Initial plans do not include compression beyond the point of origination, resulting in no noise or odors along the route.
