Nevis gas complex is located approximately 28 kilometres west of the town of Stettler and 56 kilometres East of the City of Red Deer at the junction of Highway 21 and Highway 11 on the banks of the Red Deer River. The Nevis 16-33-38-22 W4M gas plant processes inlet sour gas and natural gas liquids into sweet sales gas, propane, butane, condensate and sulphur. The raw inlet gas and liquids are transported to the plant through an intricate pipeline gathering system (approximately 350 km of pipeline). The raw inlet capacity is 150 mmcf/d, while the sulphur license capacity is 300 tonnes/day. Products produced are: sales gas, propane, butane, condensate and sulphur. The facility was constructed in 1956 and undertook an expansion in 1972. A sulphur unit expansion & upgrade took place in 1985, while DCS upgrades were completed in 1993. In 1994, new inlet compression & P/L expansion completed. Keyera Corporation is the operator of the gas complex.
