Located in central Alberta, 135 kilometres southwest of the city of Edmonton, the Gilby gas complex consists of gas sweetening plant, field compression and 83 km of gas gathering pipelines. Plant facilities include inlet separation, condensate stabilisation gas sweetening, NGL recovery and fractionation. The raw inlet capacity is 2,000 103m3/day maximum, while the sulphur maximum inlet is 0.5 tonnes/day. Natural gas liquids recovery are: propane - 70%, butane - 96% and condensate - 90%. The facility was built in 1957. During the period 1957- 1980s a new gas sweetening process, new storage tanks, an inlet compression and a lean oil absorption facility were added as well. In early 2006, the Aurora gas gathering pipeline was completed.
