Project Profile
Value: Undisclosed
Location: Malin, west and north to the Jordan Cove LNG terminal in Coos Bay, Ore
Capacity: 1 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day
Length: 234 mile
Start-up Year: 4Q 2017
Pacific Connector Gas Pipeline (PCGP) is a 234-mile pipeline from the Jordan Cove LNG terminal to Malin in Oregon. The proposed Pacific Connector Gas Pipeline project (PCGP) will provide a link with existing pipeline systems that converge at Malin, Ore., and the west coast of Coos Bay, Ore. The PCGP project is being proposed to connect this natural gas supply hub, where energy is competitively traded on a daily basis, to a proposed LNG terminal (Jordan Cove). As it traverses southern Oregon, the PCGP route crosses or is located in the vicinity of existing natural gas infrastructure in several places. The PCGP has the potential to give regional natural gas customers in Pacific Northwest market areas better access to domestic Rocky Mountain and Canadian supply basins. Gas will be transported 230 miles from interconnects near Malin, Ore., west and north to the Jordan Cove LNG terminal in Coos Bay, Ore., where the natural gas will be liquefied for transport via ocean-going tanker to markets on the Pacific Rim.
Construction of the pipeline is planned to begin in the 4th quarter of 2015 and it is expected that it will be in-service in the 4th quarter of 2017. The Pacific Connector gas pipeline will be 36in in diameter and carry gas from the Jordan Cove LNG terminal to various regions in Oregon. It will also provide natural gas to the Pacific North-west, California and Nevada. The pipeline will have the capacity to transport up to one billion cubic feet of natural gas per day. The pipeline will consist of a compressor station at Medford and two metre stations at Myrtle Creek and Malin. It will be interconnected to other pipelines such as Williams\' Northwest Pipeline and Pacific Gas and Electric\'s gas transmission system. The Pacific Connector pipeline is being built by Williams Pacific Connector Gas Operator, LLC, Fort Chicago Energy Partners and PG&E Corporation. A limited partnership called Pacific Connector gas pipeline has been set up by the companies to execute the project.
