The San Andrés block is located in the southern portion of Asset Poza Rica-Altamira covering an of area 209 Km2; it is located 35 Km SE of the city of Poza Rica, Veracruz. Geologically it is located southeastern side of the Tampico-Misantla basin and its main field is the San Andres. Three hundred and fifty six wells (356) were drilled to date, of which fifty (50) are in operation, two hundred and fifty (250) are shut-in and fifty six (56) are plugged and abandoned. Current production is 950 bpd of oil. The crude produced is light with density of 27 °API. The current pressure of the reservoir varies from 217 to 255 Kg/cm2. The Tampico-Misantla Basin is located west side of Mexico and includes the south end of the state of Tamaulipas, the central portion of the State of Veracruz, portions of the west side of the states of San Luis Potosi and Hidalgo, the north portion of the state of Puebla and the continental platform to the bathymetry of 200 metres.
