The field was planned to provide feedstock for Sasol’s Mozambique South Africa pipeline, currently underpinned by reserves at the Temane and Pande fields.
A wildcat exploration well Mupeji-1 was plugged and abandoned as a dry well. Consequently, the block was relinquished after the second exploration period licence expired. (June, 2013)
