The Wattenberg Field is a 100 square mile geological formation located north of Denver, Colorado in Weld, Adams, Boulder, Broomfield and Larimer counties. Wattenberg field and its associated Wattenberg Field unit produce mainly crude oil and natural gas. The Wattenberg field is the 7th largest producer of natural gas in the U.S and has steadily been producing natural gas since 1970. The Wattenberg oil and gas field is seen as one of the 20 largest O&G fields in America. The predominant operators in this core area are Anadarko (APC), Noble Energy (NBL), Marathon Oil (MRO), Chesapeake Energy (CHK), Encana (ECA), and EOG Resources (EOG).
