Project Profile
Drilling and completion cost: US$1 million per well (12 wells in total)
Location: Near the city of Brooks, southeastern Alberta
The Jenner property is accessible year-round and is located near the city of Brooks in southeastern Alberta. The property has multiple zones of potential, existing infrastructure, and low cost drilling and completions, which make Jenner an attractive area for Hemisphere Energy. The area surrounding the property is host to key operators such as Cenovus, Husky, Pengrowth and Penn West. Hemisphere currently has one horizontal oil well licensed which they plan to drill in 2011.
Geology
The oil-bearing sandstones of the Glauconitic formation produce a medium-to-heavy crude oil (13–25 degrees API). The Glauconitic Formation is part of the Lower Cretaceous Mannville Group in southern and central Alberta. It is composed of fluvial, deltaic, and shallow marine sediments which are proven oil and gas reservoirs in the region.
