The project will see the construction of a 250,000 bpd total capacity oil sands mining & co-generation facility, as part of Athabasca Oil Sands Expansion (AOSP).
The phase one will involve a new stand-alone mining and extraction facility located on the eastern portion of Lease 13 with a capacity of approximately 200,000 barrels per day of bitumen production. The development of this new mine is covered by the pending regulatory approval for the east-side of Lease 13 and will include freshwater pipeline.
The phase two will involve additional resources on Leases 88 and 89 would be mined as an extension of the first phase of the Jackpine Mine, allowing for additional production of approximately 100,000 barrels per day. The development of Leases 88 and 89 requires additional regulatory approval.
The phase three will involve the expansion to 300,000 bpd.
