Project Profile
Value: US$3.59 billion
Expansion cost: US$1.6 billion
Location: 350km east of Newfoundland, on the Grand Banks, Canada
Reserves: 230 million barrels
Peak Production: 75,000 bpd by 2025
Start-up year: 2022
The White Rose field is located 350km east of Newfoundland, approximately 50km from both the Terra Nova and Hibernia fields.
The development of the project includes a wellhead, subsea and FPSO. The subsea infrastructure has 21 trees; 5 manifolds: 13 oil prod, 6 gas inj and 2 water inj. For the facility modifications on Sea Rose FPSO, Husky is planning three satellite subsea tiebacks (the trio of small-field developments contain a combined 214 million barrels of oil). There will be 31 wells drilled. The fields are North Amethyst, South White Rose and West White Rose. North Amethyst, which contains about 70 million barrels of oil, will be the first expansion, pending regulatory approvals.
Husky is the operator of South White Rose, holding a 72.5% working interest in the main White Rose field and a 68.9% interest in the satellite fields.
