Project Profile
Value: US$7,000 million
Start-up Year: 2012
Refinery: 600,000 bbl/day
This expansion will increase current capacity to 600,000 barrels per day in 2012, making it the largest refinery in the U.S. and one of the top 10 in the world.
Port Arthur is primed to become America\'s refinery leader.
Its strategic Gulf Coast location with ready access to waterborne crude oil and major product pipelines make it the ideal place for such an expansion.
During this expansion, the Port Arthur Refinery will still operate at its current capacity of 275,000 barrels per day. At peak construction, we expect between 5,000-6,000 people on the expansion site.
