The Cantarell Field is the largest offshore development project in the world. It is a heavy oilfield, located 100 kilometres off the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, in the Gulf of Mexico and yields 60% of Mexico\'s crudeat its peak. Pemex is planning to install additional production infrastructure: additional 53 wells and 2 wellhead platforms (Akal-Q, Akal-W), plus a third platform (Sihil-A) to launch development from deeper Sihil field. Pemex is the operator of the field with 100% interest.
