The Ku-Maloob-Zaap oilfield started in 2002, operated by Mexican state oil company Pemex to boost crude output. The project consists of five fields – Ku, Maloob, Zaap, Bacab and Lum. The development involved drilling of 103 wells and construction of 17 platforms – seven drilling, four production, four accommodation, one telecommunication and one processing. There will also be 42 new pipelines. BW Offshore converted the crude carrier Berge Enterprise into a 2.2 million barrel capacity Yuum K\'ak\' Naab FPSO. It is capable of producing 200,000bpd of crude oil and 120 million cubic feet of natural gas per day. Yuum K\'ak\' Naab was converted at the Sembawang Shipyard in Singapore by Sembcorp Marine.
