The 160-mile, 30-inch Rich Eagle Ford Mainline (REM) has a capacity of 400 million cubic feet per day, with the ability to expand capacity to 800 million cubic feet per day. This rich gas gathering system originates in Dimmitt County, Texas and extends to the Partnership\'s Chisholm Pipeline for ultimate deliveries to the Partnership\'s existing processing plants and to a new 120,000 Mcf per day processing plant. Energy Transfer Partners LP, Dallas, in February 2012 decided the further expanding of Rich Eagle Ford mainline and would build more cryogenic processing to provide gas gathering, processing, and liquids services for Eagle Ford shale production. The Rich Eagle Ford line will include 257 miles of 30-in. and 42-in. OD pipe, with more than 1 bcfd capacity. Its initial phase entered service in October 2011. Energy Transfer scheduled the first expansion, 60 miles of 42-in. OD pipe, for completion in fourth-quarter 2012 and the second expansion, 37 miles of 30-in. OD pipe by fourth-quarter 2013. Energy Transfer Partners LP is the operator with 100% interest.
New Processing Plant
The new processing plant, located in Karnes County, Texas will provide approximately 200 million cubic feet per day of capacity and is necessary to fulfill the new long-term shipper commitments on REM. This new plant, which is scheduled to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2012, and the previously announced Chisholm and Jackson County Processing Plants, will provide approximately 1.125 billion cubic feet per day of processing capacity. Total cost for the Karnes County Processing Plant and the REM expansion is estimated to be US$210 million.
