Project Profile
Value: US$4,000 million
Location: Block 29, Walker Ridge, Gulf of Mexico
Start-up Year: 2016
Water Depth: 1,600 m
Oil Reserves: 150 million bbl
A deepwater discovery in Walker Ridge Block 29. The field is located 362km south of New Orleans. The field is estimated to contain total recoverable resources in excess of 200m boe. Primary pay sands are Middle to Upper Miocene ranging from 19,000-24,000 ft (5,800 - 7,300m) and lie below a salt canopy ranging from 8,000 to 15,000ft (2,400 to 4,500m) thick. Three exploration and appraisal wells with multiple sidetracks have been drilled successfully in the field to define the structure. Big Foot will be developed with an dry tree Extended Tension Leg Platform with an onboard drilling rig and have production capacity of 75,000 b/d of oil and 25 MMcf/d (0.7 MMcm/d) of natural gas.
