Project Profile
Value: US$1 billion
Location: Harweel cluster of fields, south of Oman
Production capacity (peak): 4.9 million cubic metres per day of sweet gas, 9.7 MMcmd of condensate and 16 MMcmd of high pressure sour gas injection
Start-up Year: 2019
Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) has launched the Rabab Harweel Integrated Project (RHIP) on the Harweel cluster. The RHIP facility will include sour gas processing facilities and associated gathering and injection systems and export pipelines. The project is located in the Harweel cluster of fields located in the south of Oman. The RHIP facility will include sour gas processing facilities and associated gathering and injection systems, as well as export pipelines. It will handle the production of oil and gas from the Harweel oil reservoirs via miscible gas injection and the production of gas with condensate from the Rabab reservoir through partial recycling of sour gas. The facility is designed to deliver peak export of 4.9 million cubic meters per day of sweet gas and 9,700 cubic meters per day of condensate in addition to approximately 16 million cubic meters per day of sour gas.
Petrofac has won an engineering and procurement contract worth more than US$1 billion from Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) for work on cluster of fields in the south of the country. The contract to provide services for the Rabab Harweel Integrated Project (RHIP) on the Harweel cluster also includes commissioning and construction management support. Petrofac will provide full support during the construction and start-up phases of the facility as part of the four-and-a-half year contract.
