The three oilfields are expected to produce 10,000 to 12,000 barrels of heavy oil per day in the first phase, and about 25,000 barrels per day in the second phase. In first phase 7 oil wells and in second phase 19 oil wells are scheduled to be drilled. The three oilfields are located in Bushehr province south of Iran and were to be developed in partnership with Russia’s Gazprom Pars. However, in 2014, local media reported that the contract had been terminated by the Iranian Petroleum Ministry, prompting renewed negotiations for a new contract.
