Location: Deepwater Tano License offshore Ghana from the TEN project (2016)
Production: 23,000 bopd gross
Start-up Year: -
The Wawa prospect is situated in the Deepwater Tano License offshore Ghana. Partners in the license include Tullow (operator, 49.95 percent), Kosmos (18 percent), Anadarko (18 percent), Sabre (4.06 percent) and Ghana Nat. Pet. (10 percent). The operator spud the Wawa prospect, which is targeting hydrocarbons which may have moved to a trap up-dip from the ten oil and gas/condensate fields.
Wawa-1 has confirmed the presence of additional hydrocarbon-bearing formations in the Deepwater Tano Block. The well, which was drilled by the Atwood Hunter (DW semisub), encountered about 43 feet (13 metres) of oil pay and 65 feet (20 metres) of gas condensate pay. Wawa-1 was drilled in nearly 1,926 feet (587 metres) of water to a total depth of 10,899 feet (3,299 metres). The discovery reached hydrocarbon-bearing formations over 6 miles (10 kilometres) north of the Enyenra-3A well.
