Garmian Block is an oil block located in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. WesternZagros Resources is the operator with 40% interest with Gazprom Neft holding also a 40% interest and the Kurdistan Regional Government holdign the remaining 20% interest. The frist well to be drilled was the Mil Qasim-1 well. Mil Qasim-1 is located three kilometers to the south-east of Sarqala-1 discovery well. Mil Qasim-1 is targeting the prospective Upper Fars interval that exhibited numerous oil shows, including oil to surface in the drilling mud, while drilling the same interval in the Sarqala-1 well. The planned total depth was approximately 2,400 metres.
The crude oil production and sales from the Sarqala-1 well are resumed. The gross production rates are expected to average ~5,000 bpd. (03/05/2016)
